Sports massage is also highly effective in aiding the rapid recovery from an injury by encouraging greater kinesthetic awareness and in turn promoting the body's natural immune function. Chair massage

See Items of Interest Page for details.

Prices may vary depending on locations

Chair massage is a popular way to of relieving stress and releasing tension. You receive your massage in a specialized ergonomic chair, which I can bring to your location. In addition to the usual health benefits of massage, chair massage is done over the clothing. With seated massage you can avoid the discomfort and awkwardness that you may feel in disrobing for a traditional Swedish massage.

Active Isolated Stretching

$18 - 20 Minutes

$45 - 60 Minutes

You will be assisted by the massage therapist for several types of stretches. This is NOT a passive massage where you lay back and let the massage therapist do all of the work. You participate in the session by activating certain muscles to get other muscles to relax and to be stretched. The massage therapist assists you by holding the stretch for 1.5 to 2 seconds slightly beyond your end range of motion. This is done for several repetitions for each specific muscle. Sessions can be specified for lower body, upper body, or whole body.

Benefits: Optimizes muscle and tendon range of motion. Enhances athletic performance in conditioning. Optimal flexibility requires less energy expenditure in movement allowing for increased stamina, speed, agility, and strength.  Flexibility promotes improved blood circulation. AIS also facilitates the flow of lymphatic fluid that allows channeling toxic products out of the body.

Deep Tissue

Same pricing as Swedish massage

I don't charge you extra like some therapists, or spas do for a simple change in techniques.

Deep Tissue massage targets the deep layers of connective tissue in muscles throughout the body. Using slow strokes to apply deeper pressure, the massage focuses on areas of defined pain and tension. Injuries or chronic muscle tension can cause adhesions, more commonly referred to as knots. Deep tissue massage breaks down the adhesions to restore natural movement and reduce pain. Repeated massage sessions can break up or even eliminate scar tissue. Deep tissue can be painful at times as the adhesions are being worked out. There are some medical conditions, injuries, and medications that do not allow for deep tissue massage to be performed. Please ask me about details on this.

Swedish massage

$55 - 60 minutes

$75 - 90 minutes

Swedish massage is the typical type of massage that you would get at a spa or vacation resort. Swedish massage has been proven in scientific research to reduce stress, aide in pain relief, and assist  in managing hypertension. Swedish massage is performed using: smooth gliding strokes, kneading, compressions, and drumming. When clients are asked to disrobe to their comfort level before their massage session, some people disrobe all the way, but most people will leave their bottom underwear on. Since underwear is clothing, it fits the business name - Keep Your Clothes On Massage. Modest draping is used during the session. The only part of the body that is undraped, is the specific area being worked on.

Different massage modalities are better than others for certain conditions and reasons. See below for types of massage I offer including the pricing. Any questions about what type of massage would be best for you, just call, text, or e-mail: 585-794-8477; bjoslyn@lmtwellness.com
